Our services

Acceptance of Terms:
These Terms govern your use of the accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, payroll, self-managed super fund (SMSF), and business advisory services provided by Arun Accounting & Taxation Pty Ltd. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, in addition to any separate engagement letter or scope of work agreed between us.

Scope of Engagement:
The specific services to be provided, the fees payable, and the timeframe for delivery will be set out in a written engagement letter or proposal. Any work outside the agreed scope may require a separate quotation and additional fees.

Professional Standards:
We are Registered Tax Agents with the Tax Practitioners Board and members of CPA Australia. Our Services are delivered in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct, APES 110 Code of Ethics, and all applicable Australian taxation and corporations law.

Updates:
Tax laws, ATO rulings, and regulatory requirements change frequently. We will use reasonable endeavours to keep you informed of changes that affect your affairs, but ongoing advisory services beyond the original engagement may require a renewed agreement or additional fees.

Property rights

Ownership:
All working papers, templates, checklists, reports, and materials prepared by Arun Accounting & Taxation Pty Ltd remain our intellectual property unless expressly assigned to you in writing. You retain ownership of your own financial records, source documents, and data. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of our materials without our explicit written consent.

Confidentiality:
We will treat all client information as confidential in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and our professional obligations. We will not disclose your information to third parties except:

  • With your consent;

  • As required by law (e.g., ATO, courts, or regulatory bodies);

  • To our professional indemnity insurers, auditors, or legal advisors; or

  • As permitted under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (Cth).

Pricing:
Fees for our Services are set out in your engagement letter or fee schedule. Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue service offerings at any time without liability.

Payment:
All payments are processed securely through our nominated payment methods (bank transfer, credit card, or direct debit). You agree to provide accurate and complete payment information and authorise us to charge your payment method for all invoices issued for Services rendered. Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed.

Late Payment:
Overdue accounts may attract interest at 5% per annum and may result in suspension of Services until payment is received. We reserve the right to withhold lodgements (including tax returns and BAS) where fees remain unpaid, subject to our professional and legal obligations.

Prohibited activities

Unauthorized Use:
You may not use our Services for any unlawful or prohibited purpose, including but not limited to:

  • Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information to us or to the ATO;

  • Engaging in tax evasion, money laundering, or any activity that breaches Australian law;

You may not decompile, reverse engineer, copy, or attempt to obtain the source code, methodologies, or proprietary templates used in the delivery of our Services.

Accuracy of Information:
You are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely information. We are entitled to rely on the information you provide without independent verification. We are not liable for penalties, interest, or losses arising from incorrect, incomplete, or late information supplied by you.

Services management

Support:
We provide support to clients during standard business hours (9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays in Victoria). Support inquiries should be directed through our designated channels (phone or client portal). Response times will vary depending on complexity and workload, but we aim to respond within 1–2 business days.

Client Responsibilities:
You agree to:

  • Provide all records and information required for us to complete the Services;

  • Respond to requests for information in a timely manner;

  • Review draft documents and returns before lodgement;

  • Maintain your own backups of source documents; and

  • Notify us promptly of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your tax or compliance position.

Termination:
Either party may terminate the engagement by written notice. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our Services at our discretion, without notice, for any breach of these Terms, non-payment of fees, or where continuing the engagement would place us in breach of our professional or legal obligations. Fees for work completed up to the date of termination remain payable.

Limitation of Liability:
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific Service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including lost profits or tax penalties arising from your failure to provide accurate or timely information. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Changes to Terms:
